Sweet Tomatoes is the brand name used by Garden Fresh Restaurant Corporation for its Souplantation franchise outside of Southern California. The all-you-can-eat buffet-style chain of restaurants was established by Dennis Jay and his friends in San Diego, California in 1978. The chain has more than 100 restaurants in the United States; all of the restaurants are owned by the company.
