About French Laundry
The French Laundry, a French restaurant in Yountville, California, is recognized as among the world’s best restaurant with awards from Restaurant Magazine, as well as recognitions from Anthony Bourdain, among others. Plus, it’s one of the very few Michelin-rated stars (i.e., three stars) in the United States.
French Laundry prices are not cheap. They put everything into presentation and the food quality is top notch. So it's only fair to expect to pay a bit higher for superior experience.
Be sure to come here in your Sunday best, so to speak, as befitting a fine dining French restaurant. Reservations are a must; the line can stretch for months because of the restaurant’s uber-popularity. The wait staff are so well-trained in their craft that even jaded guests are impressed by their excellent service.
The food, a mix of French with contemporary American touches, is creative and divine! The chefs create two different tasting menus with each menu consisting of nine dishes, and no ingredient is used more than once in the dishes. There may also be special dishes during the holiday season.
Be prepared to pay at least $150 for your meal but it’s only the base meal. Guests have to pay for gratuity and extras, such as truffles and Russian caviar.
